GSDP: the size of the economy

Gross State Domestic Product is the total value of everything Kerala produces in a year. Most fiscal figures are shown as a percent of GSDP so a small state and a large one can be compared fairly, and so a number keeps its meaning as the economy grows. **Why this matters to you:** ₹1,000 crore of debt means one thing in a small economy and another in a large one. "% of GSDP" is how you size it honestly.
